The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frostform.com\/products\/copy-of-frost-form-%E2%84%A2%EF%B8%8F?variant=43776548307211\">6\u201d kit<\/a> is currently selling for \u00a366 which for me is a lot. That\u2019s not saying it\u2019s not worth it, just that it wasn\u2019t something I was willing to invest in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, I stumbled across a similar product called \u201cBrigid\u2019s Ganaching Kit\u201d which to me looked very similar. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cakecabinet.co.uk\/brigid-s-cake-room-6-inch-round-ganache-kit.html\">The 6\u201d kit<\/a> was on offer on Cake Cabinet for \u00a319, so I took a punt and ordered one last month. I have a 5\u201d crumb cutter to trim my cake layers, so I figured I\u2019d have everything I need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I made a cake yesterday with no purpose other than testing the kit out. I baked 5 layers of vanilla cake with Oreo crumb, allowed them to cool, then trimmed them with my crumb cutter. I set up the Ganaching kit as per instructions, and began to build my cake*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"692\" height=\"919\" src=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_095756195.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-665\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_095756195.jpg 692w, https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_095756195-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I had 5 layers of cake, with vanilla buttercream and Oreo crumbles in each layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"692\" height=\"919\" src=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_100419204.PORTRAIT.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_100419204.PORTRAIT.jpg 692w, https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_100419204.PORTRAIT-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once it was stacked, I made a white chocolate butter ganache mixed with Oreo powder. I was ecstatic with the result though for a first go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"692\" height=\"919\" src=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_124100993.PORTRAIT.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-670\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_124100993.PORTRAIT.jpg 692w, https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_124100993.PORTRAIT-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What you can see when I cut the cake is that the ganache is a lot thicker on some slices than others. Again, this was entirely down to me stacking the cakes slanted without realising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"692\" height=\"919\" src=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_161112735.PORTRAIT.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-671\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_161112735.PORTRAIT.jpg 692w, https:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/PXL_20240214_161112735.PORTRAIT-226x300.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>*I should have been more careful in building the cake as it ended up leaning to the side.
