I&#8217;ve got plans to carve two bulldog pumpkins (One for work and one for home) and I&#8217;ve just spent today decorating mini pumpkin cakes made from mini bundt cakes.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, we went to our friends&#8217; house for a Halloween gathering.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-72 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-27-19.37.50-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-27-19.37.50-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/kayleighbaking.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-10-27-19.37.50-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although we went Day of the Dead style (thanks to some half price outfits purchased last year), they had a &#8220;mad science&#8221; theme so I decided to have a go at making a brain cake.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I started earlier in the week by baking some vanilla cake layers and dyed them with red food dye. I had ran out of gel colour though and had to resort to liquid &#8211; this resulted in pink cakes and not red.
